AC broke and recommend hooks fell down

I’ve never lived in a apartment that I’ve owned myself.

My adult existence so far has been contained within rented house units, where I can barely afford to pay the rent. Because I’ve regularly rented, I’ve had to find ways to decorate that are not permanent, so I can leave the house in the same condition as when I moved in. As such, I got pretty accustomed to purchasing and using Command hooks to hang things separate from making pressing holes in the walls. For the most part these hooks work great, except for when the indoor air quality does not complement the product. I’ve had several possibilities when my air has been too warm or humid for the hooks to stay linked to the walls, and all my decor comes crashing to the ground as a result. For instance, last Summer my A/C broke down unexpectedly while I was at work. When I returned apartment I found that it was well over 85 degrees inside, and my control unit was unable to control the air conditioning system as I would expect. I was on the iPhone with every Heating and Air Conditioning corporation in town, perspiring like a pig in the warm indoor air temperatures, when I started hearing crashes and bangs from every direction in the apartment. I went to investigate and had to dodge a painting as it hit the floor right next to me; the heat trapped inside the house was fantastic enough to disable the recommend hook adhesive, and my whole world was crashing down in the out of control Summer heat.
