Periodically it pays off to be a enjoyable person.
The other day I was perusing my local department store, and noticed a guy looking severely uncomfortable and confused near my section. I wasn’t sure what he was doing on that side of the store, even though he looked like he did not belong there. Even worse, it looked like he felt like he did not belong there. I started to feel terrible for the guy, because he clearly wanted nothing more than to run and hide. I was fairly certain that he would disappear legitimately if it was possible. I decided to walk over and see what was going on. I kindly asked if he was looking for something. To my surprise, an sizable relief washed over his face. He told me he needed help finding a gift for his spouse. He went on to explain that he was a central heating and cooling ventilation specialist, and he wasn’t fantastic at purchasing nice things for his spouse other than indoor air quality control equipment. Apparently, he had been buying her advanced air temperature handling devices for the past 20 years, but from their first anniversary to their last, she had been receiving current temperature controls, updated air conditioners, and the most advanced boilers on the market. This year, she wanted something besides indoor air temperature handling equipment. He had no idea what he was doing. I helped him opportunity out a nice tennis bracelet to provide to his spouse, and in exchange, he gave to help me with any Heating and Air Conditioning questions I might have. This worked out perfectly, because I will genuinely accept the fruits of his Heating and Air Conditioning love language.
