Changing HVAC companies

Changing HVAC companies

When I took over as the manager for my office, I was overwhelmed with all of the accounts I had to keep track of. Juggling bookkeeping, office maintenance and hiring of staff was a lot of additional duties that I was not prepared for. All of the extra work had me rethinking all of my professional decisions. With a lack of support from the staff, I was beginning to think I was in over my head. When one of the staff members came to tell me that she thought the air conditioner might not be working, I almost lost it! I asked her if she knew who we usually contacted for that. I could see that she could see I was stressed. She said she would go find out and let me know. I sat there at my desk watching the numbers on the thermostat go up each hour. When she returned to my desk, she informed me that the HVAC company we usually call had gone out of business. I knew I did not have time to research a new HVAC company to help up fix the air conditioner in the office. I asked her if she would mind calling around or seeing who the neighbors used for HVAC maintenance. She was successful and quickly securing a new HVAC company to come out and repair the air conditioner. After that, she was my go-to person. She was always quick and helpful in assisting me with my newly obtained duties. I recently promoted her and have her a well-deserved raise in pay.
