I really care about my Dad despite the fact that she can be a bit over-the-top, but she is constantly coming up with some modern thing to be distraught about and talking your ear off about it.
If you are not interested that won’t stop her from running her mouth.
I try my best to be patient and understanding with her because I know that she means well. However, there are many days that I am so tired by her abundant worrying I almost snap at her… Recently this is what happened when I dropped my child off for a quick daycare with Grandmother. I needed to go run some errands and I knew my child would be safe staying with my mom. However, my Dad did not feel the same way, apparently, my mother has decided that HVAC air duct is a major viable threat to children’s safety. I am not sure where she came up with this paranoia over indoor air handling devices because when I was growing up my buddy and I had a central heating and cooling system like all the people else. There was no mention back of the end of certain demise surrounding the air vents, duct work, or massive air handling equipment. Today, but, my mother has decided that children are bound to plummet directly into HVAC ducts and meet certain demise. She saw an expose on 20/20 about a freak heating and cooling accident. Ever since, she has been determined that children cannot coexist with air conditioners or heaters. When I dropped my child off with my Dad for the day… I really did not expect that she’d spend the day locked outside in the backyard to “save” her from Heating and Air Conditioning exposure.
