Occasionally I easily want to tell people to back off & treat me with a little respect.
I know that I am a relatively young & lovely woman, although I do not know that that makes it appropriate for people to talk to me like I’m stupid. In fact, I am severely well educated & accomplished in my professional work. This is why I did not need any kind of lecture from my repair professional when it came to indoor air quality last week. I am already aware that my heating & cooling system is not the best one on the block. When I moved into this house the a/c unit was already at least 10 years old. I was told that the forced air furnace was easily closer to 15. I realized that I was going to have to put in a lot of work to keep my heating & cooling system in usable shape before I could afford a full upgrade of my indoor air handling devices. It wasn’t going to be straight-forward however if I was careful I could reduce the wear & tear on my heating & cooling system. I just needed to arrange the familiar Heating, Ventilation & A/C specialist appointment & keep my temperature control programming conservative. When my Heating, Ventilation & A/C worker came out the other afternoon to inspect my heating & cooling system I was disappointed with her condescending tone about my air filters. I have been buying a bargain brand online rather than splurging on HEPA filtration devices like usual! Perhaps my air filters aren’t the best air quality control measures on the market, however either is my entire central heating & cooling system.
