October Storm

October Storm

One of my favorite childhood memories is from a freak snowstorm that happened in the middle of October 2008.

It was a normal Autumn afternoon that ended with a blizzard.

My associate and I went to sleep in addition to got our stuff ready for college the next afternoon. My associate and I woke up to multiple feet of snow in addition to college was cancelled! My associate and I couldn’t know our eyes. What my friend and I didn’t realize was that this storm would last a full week in addition to keep almost everyone out of college in addition to toil for that entire time. The winds from the storm were so powerful that they knocked trees over, which then knocked down power lines. Almost all of my extended family lost power in addition to lost heat. Luckily, my house didn’t lose anything, so my entire family came to spend the week with us. It was like one substantial sleepover. Thinking back, though, it was so dangerous that multiple people were separate from heat. I remember the upset faces of my aunts in addition to uncles while they tried to get in touch with their Heating & A/C representatives. Nearly the entire town lost heat, so all of the Heating & A/C companies were overflowed with calls from upset buyers. I knew, even as a child, that I should be thankful that my friend and I had heat in addition to my friend and I were safe. About one week later, most of my aunts in addition to uncles were able to get in touch with heating specialists in addition to finally turned the heat on in their homes. I was sad to see all of my cousins go back household because my friend and I had so much fun together during the snowstorm, although I was glad to see that almost everyone was safe in their own homes. I feel it’s straight-forward to forget how substantial heat is for our safety until my friend and I are separate from it.
