Our air conditioner fell through our roof last night.
- It was a stormy night when it happened, and my dad thought that lightning struck our roof.
We should have seen it coming since we had seen a few cracks in the ceiling a few days before and it was right under where our central air conditioner was installed on our roof. We almost didn’t get a central air conditioner because we were afraid we would have nowhere to put it, but the HVAC technician suggested we get it installed on our roof. We called a heating and cooling business and asked if they could do anything about it, but since it was not the air conditioner itself that needed fixed, rather the ceiling, they could not help us, but they suggested a construction company we could contact. We scheduled a date for a construction worker to come in and an HVAc technician since the construction workers said that they would need the central air conditioner uninstalled in order to fix the roof. Apparently it was not soon enough because the air conditioner fell through the ceiling. The next morning, the construction workers and HVAC technicians came in and helped us clean up the mess and fix it. The cooling expert found a few major problems with the central air conditioner that happened due to the fall. They were not sure if there was any hope for the a/c unit, but they took it to their HVAC repair shop and did their best to fix it. I had to purchase many different heating and cooling equipment parts in order to get the central air conditioner back into proper conditioner, but it was worth it in the end when everything was fixed.
