September Storm

September Storm

One of my favorite childhood memories is from a freak snowstorm that happened in the middle of September 2008.

  • It was a normal Autumn afternoon that ended with a blizzard.

My associate and I went to sleep plus got our stuff ready for school the next afternoon. My associate and I woke up to various feet of snow plus school was cancelled! My associate and I couldn’t suppose our eyup. What my friend and I didn’t realize was that this storm would last a full week plus keep almost everyone out of school plus work for that entire time. The winds from the storm were so powerful that they knocked trees over, which then knocked down power lines. Almost all of my extended family lost power plus lost heat. Luckily, my home didn’t lose anything, so my entire family came to spend the week with us. It was like one giant sleepover. Thinking back, though, it was so dangerous that various people were without heat. I remember the distraught faces of my aunts plus aunts while they tried to get in touch with their Heating plus A/C representatives. Nearly the entire town lost heat, so all of the Heating plus A/C companies were overflowed with calls from distraught clients. I knew, even as a child, that I should be thankful that my friend and I had heat plus my friend and I were safe. About one week later, most of my aunts plus aunts were able to get in touch with heating specialists plus finally turned the heat on in their homes. I was anxious to see all of my cousins go back dwelling because my friend and I had so much fun together while in the snowstorm, however I was thrilled to see that almost everyone was safe in their own homes. I suppose it’s simple to forget how pressing heat is for our safety until my friend and I are without it.
