Thank god for basements; sheltering in the storm

There’s nothing worse than swiftly having a wrench thrown into your day.

This happens when you pretty often because I live in a fairly unpredictable environment.

Working on the farm means that I have a lot of unexpected pet concerns to deal with. You never know when one of the horses is going to hurt themselves or fall ill. Suddenly, you have to call the vet & wait around all day to resolve the medical emergency before you can get a single thing done. It doesn’t help that my pal and I live in a locale with an unpredictable weather conditions, as well. Not only do our outdoor air rapidly changing temperatures fluctuate wildly from hot to chilly throughout the day… But you never know when you’re going to get a dramatic outburst of dire weather. This is what happened to the other day when a Summer storm turned into an emergency. It had been seriously hot & muggy all day long so my pal and I were doing our best to finish our outdoor chores so my pal and I could get back to AC. That’s when my pal and I looked up & noticed the dark clouds rolling in. My pal and I entirely were encouraged to see the rain storm headed our direction because it would change the outdoor air quality & hopefully decrease the air temperature. My pal and I were absolutely hot from working outside & ready for A/C at that point. My pal and I thrilledly ran inside to shelter from the storm in A/C for a few minutes. However, the storm got worse & my pal and I found ourselves hiding in the chilly basement. In that moment, I was so thrilled that my pal and I had a nice chilly basement with inherently cool indoor air. I knew our air conditioner couldn’t be relied upon in case of emergency, however the naturally cool basement could.
