Too much moisture in the air for glue to dry

We’ve been doing a ton of home renovation projects lately, and I’ve really been enjoying the experience of putting love and care into the place where I reside.

I like to be involved with these big projects, because they keep me busy and active, while keeping my brain distracted from all the other stresses of settling into a new place.

One of the bigger projects we tackled was installed a faux wood finish on this awkward half wall in our house; the only problem was the extreme heat and humidity of the environment here delaying our project. Even though we had the air conditioning on in our house since day one, we quickly found that this air quality wasn’t necessarily good enough to facilitate the completion of all our projects. For instance, when I was painting furniture I found that the extra moisture in our indoor air was delaying the paint drying process, and I learned to be extra patient with my new pieces. This has also been the case with the glue that we’ve employed to hold up the faux wood pieces; the heat and humidity of the indoor and outdoor air has been deleterious to the glue. We have tried to crank up the air conditioning to compensate for these issues with our air quality, but find that we’re losing feeling in our fingers and toes during these attempts. Meanwhile,, the wood panels keep coming loose and falling straight off the wall. We don’t know what to try next; we’re running out of AC power and running low on glue!
