Thank god for basements; sheltering in the storm

There’s nothing worse than quickly having a wrench thrown into your day.

This happens when you pretty often because I live in a fairly unpredictable environment.

Working on the farm means that I have a lot of unexpected animal issues to deal with. You never know when one of the horses is going to hurt themselves or fall ill. Suddenly, you have to call the vet and wait around all day to resolve the medical emergency before you can get a single thing done. It does not help that my buddy and I live in a locale with an unpredictable climate, as well. Not only do our outdoor air uneven temperatures fluctuate wildly from tepid to cold throughout the day… But you never know when you are going to get a dramatic outburst of severe weather. This is what happened to the other day when a Summer storm turned into an emergency. It had been extremely tepid and muggy all day long so my buddy and I were doing our best to finish our outdoor chores so my buddy and I could get back to AC. That’s when my buddy and I looked up and noticed the dark clouds rolling in. My pal and I entirely were encouraged to see the rain storm headed our direction because it would change the outdoor air quality and hopefully decrease the air temperature. My pal and I were entirely boiling from laboring outside and ready for A/C at that point. My pal and I gladly ran inside to shelter from the storm in A/C for a few minutes. However, the storm got worse and my buddy and I found ourselves hiding in the cold basement. In that moment, I was so glad that my buddy and I had a nice cold basement with inherently cool indoor air. I knew our air conditioner couldn’t be relied upon in case of emergency, but the naturally cool basement could.
