The Day After Christmas is Cold, But The Electric Furnace is Ready to Go

Today is the day after Christmas and it is serene and calm here in my aunt’s house, except for a little noise for the kids here, which is nice to hear once in a while.

  • I am going to write a few articles and then maybe go for a run before it gets too icy cold out there.

I think right now it is only about 42F and I think this may be the hottest time of the day, so it looks like we will make a fire in the fireplace or maybe just run the central furnace for a bit. I ate about 14 rumballs yesterday and am feeling the effects of it today as my joints hurt a little more than they used to a couple days ago. My HVAC tech friend made the rumballs and I couldn’t stop eating them, as they remind me of when I was a kid and used to eat them at my grandmother’s lake house. I don’t think they have that much rum in them but they still taste really good and give me a good sugar buzz. The space heater in the office where I am writing now is keeping this room warm, but the rest of the house is still kind of cold. My bedroom is the coldest though, as I keep the vent closed in the room so I can sleep better at night. I don’t like to have any heating in my room, and they don’t have zoned heating and cooling in the home, so I need to close the vent manually.
